Alison, I'm new to your writing, but I feel like this piece is just what I needed in a time of unrest and confusion and tiredness. Sometimes it's just a matter of caring for ourselves, not shaming ourselves and resting in a God who can continue His work without us for a time. As a fellow bootstrapper myself, and a Type 2 on the Enneagram, it's hard to just sit and be, right where I am, and not serve others. Especially as an associate pastor, because that is part of my responsibilities. But I know part of that is what the Lord is asking me to do...and giving me permission to do as well.
